Wavescape Festival 2016

The Wavescape Festival has grown into one of Cape Town’s most popular attractions. The festival sees thousands of surf and sea fans joining together to attend various activities over 21 days.

The most popular of all the activities is the Clifton 4th Beach Film Night, which will be taking place on the 3rd December this year. Thousands will gather at the foot of Table Mountain for the opening film of the festival which is projected onto a large screen under the stars at tourist mecca Clifton Fourth Beach. The night has previously been described as a night at the most beautiful cinema in the world.

The film festival includes 26 ocean and surfing films which will screen at two other venues alongside Clifton, the Labia Theatre and the Jack Black Brewery. The event also sees other activities such as exhibitions and talks from artists, craftsmen, scientists and athletes who are all intimately connected to the ocean. All events are informal and fun gatherings which include great company, good food and of course craft beer from the Jack Black Brewery.

Wavescape is presented by the Save our Seas Foundation who have tailor made a unique festival bringing surfers, beach lovers, artists, scientists and activists together to help educate, fundraise and save our natural marine heritage.
