Bakoven Beach in Bakoven, Cape Town, Western Cape
Exclusive bayside gem
The beach at Bakoven is small and can not really be called a beach. There is only a very small area of white sand surrounded by rocks and boulders. The spot is zealously protected by the locals, but its natural beauty of kelp forests, rock pools and the combination of big boulders and white sands, make it a superb haven for sundowners, with its little cove protecting you from the wind.
Bakoven’s small sheltered beach bay is often overlooked in favour of the more trendy and spacious Camps Bay just minutes away. The ocean is cool and tanning space is limited but the ambiance is peaceful.
This exclusive bayside gem has the luxury of privacy but lacks public amenities. Bring your own cool-bag and sunscreen and share the cape sun, skies, mountain views and the peaceful atmosphere.
