Boknes Strand is situated on the Sunshine Coast in the heart of the Eastern Cape, roughly 5km from Cannon Rocks, 12km from Kenton on Sea, 31km from Alexandria, 37km from Port Alfred, 72km from Grahamstown, 126km from Port Elizabeth and 187 km from East London.
The unspoilt rural, and largely undeveloped beach, is sandy with wide open spaces and undulating dune fields as well as interesting rock formations; offering a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere for visitors wanting to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life
Kite-surfing, fishing and swimming is the main attraction of Boknes Beach, with its blissfuly warm Indian Ocean waters. You can also take a leisurely walk along the undeveloped beach to the Diaz Cross and the next coastal village of Bushman’s River. Check out the rock pools at low tide to see the abundance of sea-life gathered there.
Lifeguards and security are on duty during holiday seasons.
Alongside the beach there are quaint little cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious meal or something cold and refreshing to drink after a day in the hot sun.
