Découvrir l'Afrique du Sud
Sors ta tête du sable

Big Bay beach is a wide, sandy, white, pleasant, beach that is well-known for its surfing competitions and events.

There are lovely boardwalks to enjoy a leisurely stroll - with fantastic views of Table Mountain and Robben Island.

To the right is a long stretch of beach ideal for walking.

In the summer months the beach can get windy as the southerly winds sweep over this area of the coastline. When this happens the kite-surfers are in their element and put on a spectacular show.

There are two rocky points that extend out into the sea creating a small bay in which, swimming, surfing, and windsurfing are favourite pastimes.

Facilities at the beach include:

  • provision for the physically challenged.
  • life guard and first aid services.
  • plenty of parking.
  • environmental education & public awareness programs during holiday seasons.
  • Café for light refreshments
