Mingerhout Loop

The Mingerhout Loop turns off out of the H1-6 and runs along the Letaba River for 14km until reaching the Mingerhout Dam. The first half of this route is scenic and full of animal life, and then for the next 15km runs mostly through Mopaniveld, which is much less interesting,

Along the riverside a lot of impalas herds are seen, with elephants often browsing along the mopani trees.

At the Mingerhout Dam there are always hippos and crocodiles. The view from the dam is too far to see any smaller animals or birdlife from the top, but if you spend some time with binoculars you could have some interesting sightings.
