Ship Mountain

Ship mountain is a conglomerate of massive boulders forming a solitary hill resembling the underside of a ship. Forming a striking contrast in its surroundings it never fails to raise curiosity.

Near the foot of this mountain an old wagon trail crossing a stream marks the birth place in 1885 of Jock of the Bushveld.

Numerous Rhino with their inconspicuous grey hides blend into the surrounding scrubby Combretum Terminalia , which is restricted to Ship Mountain, and sicklebush trees ... and despite their bulk are sometimes difficult to spot.
