Mitomeni - first concrete dam in Southern Region, Kruger National Park, Limpopo

The concrete dam at Mitomeni was built by the former “supervisor” of Pretoriuskop Rest Camp, M Rowland-Jones, in the period 1931-1932.

This gave impetus to the construction of other dams and artificial water sources and this programme was eventually titled the “Water for Game” project.
