The Simola Golf Course is situated in Knysna in the Western Cape, South Africa.

The course is an 18-hole, 72 par Parklands golf course with Kikuyu Grass Fairways. The course is 5 644 meters in length.

Located on one of the most prestigious Estates in the country, the Simola Golf and Country Estate and was designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, fondly referred to as the “Golden Bear”. In fact it is the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course along the Garden Route. Simola has become one of the premier golfing destinations with breathtaking views from every hole of either the surrounding forests, the Knysna Lagoon all the way out to the Heads or of the Knysna River as it twists and turns in the valley below.

Fairways merge seamlessly with lush indigenous vegetation and forests creating undulating hills and dales leading to the Knysna River. An unusual configuration of five, par 5’s and five, par 3’s has discerned this course from others and provides a fresh challenge to all levels of golfing ability.

Green fees for visitors are in the vicinity of R890 per person. Prices are subject to change so it is recommended that interested parties contact the Golf Course directly.

Climate

Summer months, November to March will have average temperatures of between 15˚C and 28˚C with high rainfall in October.

Winter months, May to August will have average temperatures of between 7˚C and 21˚C with the lowest rainfall in June.

Transport

Commercial Airlines offer flights into George Airport. The N2 highway will take you into the Knysna, approximately a one hour drive. Car hire facilities are located at the Airports.
