Humewood Golf Course in Summerstrand, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape

The Humewood Golf Club has some of the most prime real estate in Port Elizabeth, bordering the Indian Ocean and the Cape Recife Nature Reserve. It offers beautiful views right across the shimmering bay and has first class facilities that any golfer could hope for.

The course is an 18-hole, 72 par Links style golf course with Kweek Fairways and Gulf Grass Greens. The length of the Course is 6 225 m designed by Colonel SV Hotchkin.

The rankings of the best golf courses in South Africa consistently sees the Humewood Golf Course appearing in it. It has also hosted many PGA events including the South African Open on five occasions as well as the South African Amateur Open ten times.  

The championship course has undulating fairways that have been widened to accommodate the wind which can blow fiercely. The roughs are mostly dense coastal bush which can be unforgiving to the wayward stroke. This course is one of the most challenging courses in the country and it is very proud to share it.

Humewood is very unique, don’t be surprised when monkeys, small buck, tortoises, meerkats and plovers share the course with you as you play.
