Colesberg Information Centre in Colesberg, Northern Cape
The old bank hall of what used to be the first bank in Colesberg, and later the first Standard Bank branch, has become the very busy Colesberg Information Centre. The remaining rooms house the museum collection.
No tourist or visitor should neglect to call in at these beautiful premises for invaluable advice and information on where to stay, what to do and what to see in Colesberg.
Lungile and Elize will be happy to share their expertise and knowledge with you.
Walking Tours
The Information Centre will happily organize a walking tour (lasting about three hours) where visitors can get the most out of the historical value and natural loveliness of Colesberg.
You can learn of the approximately 40 families comprising the Karoo Nomads, get a grasp of local history, and revisit the past in the old cemetery and the historical horse-driven mill pub.
You can visit the town’s churches and many of its original reed-ceiling, yellowwood beamed homes, where you will enjoy the uniquely Karoo architecture and meet some of the town locals to experience the characteristic warm Karoo hospitality.
The Colesberg-Kemper Museum is also part of this fantastic experience.
