Salon Anna-Belle in Alberton North, Alberton, Gauteng

Annetjie has been a committed hairdresser since 1964. One of her proudest moments was when she won the Witwatersrand Annual Apprentice Hairdressing Competition in 1964 between 100 contestants.

Her Salon Anna-Belle operates from one of the last three iron houses that remain in Alberton today. It has been lovingly restored by Annetjie herself and she is passionate about her little zinc building which was built way back in 1899. Salon Anna-Belle is a perfect example of how old buildings can be adapted to fit in with our modern lifestyle and yet retain that magic "olde thyme" ambience that has long since been forgotten.
