Sea Shack

Comfortable Seaside “Glamping”

Situated within the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, just 5 km from the small fishing of Paternoster, is the most peaceful retreat known as the Sea Shack.

This small, eco-friendly seaside self-catering retreat focuses on living sustainably and peacefully with nature. The charming “shack” accommodation is set within the idyllic and tranquil setting and each wooden cabin is personalised and themed to suit its name by the well-known artist Theo Kleynhans.

The Sea Shack is powered by solar and gas and totally off the grid. It has a strong focus of environmental awareness and eco-tourism and has a recycling and water wise program in place. The venue constantly works at balancing the human impact on the environment, fauna and flora around us.

The communal bathroom facilities include an eco-toilet and gas heated shower and the favourite “kuier” spot at the Sea Shack is the fire pit where guests gather in the evening to cook and share stories of their activities of the day. It is suggested that guests bring along extra headlamps and a fleecy blanket for cooler evenings.

Your hosts strive to give their guests a comfortable glamping experience, as close to nature as possible. The Sea Shack is a retreat as special and serene for its guests as it is for its fauna neighbours – true special holiday memories are made here!
