This stunning Resort and Casino lies along 7 km’s of the lush banks of the Vaal River. It is only an hour’s drive away from Johannesburg, making it a very popular weekend getaway for locals and visitors to the surrounding area.

The Resort offers an array of restaurants, entertainment, outdoor activities and accommodation. The exciting entertainment centre offers something for each member of the family, from game drives and Animal World Zoo to the all-year round Water Park. Guests looking for a more relaxed time can make use of the African Spa.

There are 540 slots on the open floor in smoking and non-smoking sections. Slot games range from video reels to mechanical reeds and poker and bets range between 50 cents to R600. The Salon Privé offers guests 67 machines. The Casino also offers 22 gaming tables and has some of the highest betting limits in the country. There are non-smoking and smoking table sections each with Blackjack, Roulette and progressive Poker Tables. Admission

Day visitors pay a nominal parking fee, no admission fee to the Casino. Overnight stays and certain entertainment activities, prices on request directly from the Resort.

From Pretoria / Johannesburg East

Take the N1 from Pretoria / Johannesburg. Pass through the Grasmere Toll Plaza, travel for 26 km then take the R57 Vanderbijlpark / Sasolburg off ramp. Turn left onto the R42 Vereeniging Road. Turn right at the third road - Frikkie Meyer Blvd, continue down until you reach a shopping center with a four way robot, keep left to remain on Frikkie Meyer Blvd and continue down until you reach The Emerald Resort & Casino.

Climate

Rainfall is mostly in the summer months, with December and January seeing the highest levels.

Summer months, November to March will have average temperatures of between 12˚C and 26˚C.

Winter months, May to August will have average temperatures of between 3˚C and 19˚C.

Transport

There are Domestic and International flights into Johannesburg’s O R Tambo Airport and Lanseria Airport on a daily basis. Bus services, the Gautrain, taxis and car rental companies are available for easy access around the area.
