Cloud 9 Lookout Point is situated in Sedgefield in the Western Cape, South Africa.

In the small town of Sedgefield and near Swartvlei Lake is where visitors will find this popular lookout point. From this high vantage point you will find breathtaking views from as far as Myoli Beach in the east to Gericke’s Point in the west. The flat open grassland is an ideal spot for a picnic while enjoying the sights. If you find you have a little more energy there is a short forest walking trail to explore and if you plan on spending the day out with nature and sightseeing then there is also a beautiful circular drive that follows the shoreline of the Swartvlei.

For the very adventurous and those thrill seekers who are not afraid of heights, the lookout point is most popular for activities such as paragliding or hang gliding. Four paragliding clubs can be contacted to participate in this activity, namely Skywings, Skybound, Wild 2 Fly and Head for Heights.

It is suggested that you take along your camera and don’t forget your own refreshments!

Admission

No charge to visit the viewpoint. Open during daylight hours.

Climate

Summer months, November to March will have average temperatures of between 15˚C and 28˚C with high rainfall in October.

Winter months, May to August will have average temperatures of between 7˚C and 21˚C with the lowest rainfall in June.

Transport

Commercial Airlines offer flights into George Airport. The N2 highway will take you on to Sedgefield and Knysna, approximately a one hour drive. Car hire facilities are located at the Airports.
