Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Gauteng of South Africa is situated in the city of Pretoria. The Stadium received its name in 1932, after Robert Owen Loftus Versfeld, the founder of organized rugby in Pretoria.

Loftus Versfeld Stadium is one of South Africa’s leading stadiums with a seating capacity of 50 000 people. It is home to the Blue Bulls Rugby Team, the Bulls Super 12 Rugby Squad and the Premier Soccer League Mamelodi Sundowners.

It was one of the primary venues for the 1995 World Cup Rugby and for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In addition to being a sporting venue, Loftus is also a venue for big concerts.

Climate

Pretoria experiences its rainfall in the summer months, with December and January seeing the highest levels.

Summer months, November to March will have average temperatures of between 14˚C and 28˚C.

Winter months, May to August will have average temperatures of between 3˚C and 21˚C.

Transport

There are Domestic and International flights into Johannesburg’s O R Tambo Airport and Lanseria Airport on a daily basis. Bus services, the Gautrain, taxis and car rental companies are available for easy access around the area.
