The Kampersrus cemetery is full and ‘there is no alternative place of burial for Hoedspruit residents at this stage’ according to the Maruleng Municipality’s director of community services, Ngwako Ramoshaba on Wednesday, June 2.  When asked where Hoedspruit residents are now to be buried, Ngwako responded: ‘The Maruleng Municipality will embark on negotiations with the traditional authorities of the villages Sekororo, Kgoshi, Mametja and Letsoalo for people from Hoedspruit to be buried in these villages’ cemeteries’.  Ngwako further stated that ‘there is no available municipal land to be used as a cemetery and there is no money to buy a piece of land from a private land owner’.  Anyone with suggestions to finding a solution to this serious problem, are encouraged to email us at [email protected]
