Cape Town Street Food Festival

Dishing up Authentic South African Street Food – Pavement Style

Side Street Studios will once again be playing host to the ever-popular Cape Town Street Food Festival this September. The fourth annual festival will be paying homage to our nation’s food culture by serving up true and authentic South African cuisine all weekend long!

The festival will feature a food market offering utterly delicious, proudly South African favourites such as vinegary slap tjips accompanying beer battered fish, bunny chow and of course plenty of fire braaied goods prepared by some of the country’s best food vendors.

In addition to all the great food on offer the festival also has a series of talks and workshops for those who are passionate about food and bringing their own products to market. Confirmed speakers for the Crate Talks include the likes of Ming Cheau Lin (Butterfingers), Josh de Kock (Weekly Wors), Katharine Jacobs (Eat Out), Nobhongo Gxolo (Third Culture Experiment), Dawood Peterson (Mama San) and many more creative and interesting foodie geniuses!

The Business of Food Conference provides breakfast, lunch, drinks and a goodie bag as part of the full day affair which also includes international speakers such as MargotJanse (Isabelo Project), Zayaan Khan (Food Civic) and Ruby van den Broek (Instock,  Netherlands). This conference offers an opportunity to learn about the industry and how to make a business out of your passion and the bonus on top of it all is, you get to try out a variety of new tastes, textures and flavours!
