Race Against the Sun Set

Same place, same time, but with one addition! This year the Autumn Sunset Run has two separate races running simultaneously which can only mean double the fun!

The Sunset Run has always been a unique run/walk event where participant’s race against the setting sun from the beautiful landscape at the Green Point Lighthouse in Cape Town. The allocated time is one hour and the route is 6 km’s. Participants can complete the route as many times as possible before the sun sets 60 minutes at 18h01, potentially making the race a 6 km, 12  m or 18 km route.

2017 sees the launch of the second race, the Sunset Colour Run. This race, running at the exact same time, is a less distance, but way more colourful! Runners/Walkers also have one hour to complete the 4 km route before the sun sets and again can complete the route as many times  as possible during the allotted time, potentially making the race a 4 km, 8 km or 12 km route. Colour stations are at every 1 km interval where participants are covered in various different coloured powder. It was decided to add this fun event to create an even more fun experience that is all about health and happiness!
