Last, But Not Least

Saunders Rock Beach is the last of the Sea Point beaches, lying on the border of Sea Point and Bantry Bay in Cape Town. It received it name because of the imposing granite rocks that are a feature of this mostly wind-free beach.

Saunders Rock Beach is one of the Mother’s City hidden gems, fairly uncrowded, so it’s a great choice if you are looking for a quiet and relaxed spot to hang out in the sunshine. We can almost guarantee that not a single trader will bother you here on this small beach.

The beach can be a little busier over the weekend and during holidays due to the small tidal pool to the one side of the beach, which has made it a popular swimming spot for families. Saunders Rock Beach is perfect for a later afternoon dip, watch the sunset and then dine out at one of the restaurants on the Sea Point strip.

Saunders Rock Beach is not known for surfing, but Queens Beach and other surfing spots are just a few minutes walk down the Sea Point Promenade.
