Little Brak River (Afrikaans, Klein Brak Rivier) in the Western Cape of South Africa is a tranquil settlement nestled between Mossel Bay and Groot Brak Rivier on the Garden Route.
Relatively unspoilt and immaculately kept, this little coastal village offers the tourist an abundance of bird and marine life. The area is a well known location for whale watching in the winter months. This town is a happy mix of energetic sporting activities and a relaxing and peaceful getaway. The sea is calm and safe for swimming with no crowds.
The river itself is a wonderful spot for canoeing, fishing and boating and wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy game drives at the Botlierskop Private Game Reserve. Here at the Game Reserve you can picnic amongst the Elephants, touch and feed Sam, Tsotsi and Tsima and have a personal experience with an African Elephant.
For those wanting a day out at the shops, Mossel Bay is only 18 km away.

Climate
Klein Brak River is renowned for having the mildest climate throughout the year with rainfall all year round.
Summer months, November to March will have average temperatures of between 15˚C and 25˚C.
Winter months, May to August will have average temperatures of between 10˚C and 23˚C.
Transport
Domestic flights into George are available on a daily basis and car rental companies can be found at the Airport for your trip along the N2, approximately 34.4 km, to Klein Brak River.
Festivals
January – Dias Festival: Cultural celebration held in Mossel Bay.
October – Mossel Bay Sports Festival: Approximately 30 different sporting events, including a doggies walk in aid of the SPCA.

History
This little town lies at the mouth of the Klein Brak River and is so named after the brackish water colour of the river.
It has grown from just a few holiday homes into an affluent residential area. The town is mostly Afrikaans speaking and the biggest employer is still the Watson Shoe Factory.
