The Mangela Animal Touch farm and tea garden is situated 10 km outside Tzaneen in the Limpopo Province, South Africa.

This animal touch farm can be found at the Tzaneen Country Lodge and Spa. It provides fun and activities for both kids and adults alike.

Children can play and learn in a safe environment while parents relax and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery from the Tea Garden which offers homemade Mangela pancakes, delicious desserts and a variety of cakes. The animals are friendly and guests can meet and feed carrots and crunchy apples to Jacob the Donkey and the four miniature ponies, Misty, Maya, Pepe and Inca. Other farm animals include pot-bellied pigs, ostriches, emus, rabbits, ducks, goats and much more.

Mangela is a fun family outing option whilst taking a break from wildlife and museums.

Climate

Tzaneen experiences a more than average rainfall all year round, with the highest occurring between November and February.

Summer months, October to March will experience average temperatures of between 18˚C to 31˚C. 

Winter months, May to August, will bring temperatures down to between 8˚C and 24˚C.

Transport

There are daily flights from Johannesburg into the Hendrik van Eck Airport in Phalaborwa. Car rental companies are available for easy access to Tzaneen, approximately and hour and 20 minutes away. Road trips from Johannesburg via the N1 and R71 will take approximately four and a half hours.
