Mini Town Durban

Durban from a Different View

Mini Town is one of Durban’s most well-known tourist attractions. A walk around Mini Town gives you an amazing opportunity to view some of Durban’s most interesting buildings all in a 1:24 scale.

Mini Town has been around for more than 30 years now and you will find it along the Golden Mile so you can visit it while spending a day in the sun on some of Durban’s best beaches. Mini Town has had great detail put into it, you will even find a mini Spar and Liquor store, a harbour with mini boats, helicopters, wildlife, a school, a replica of the Southern Sun Garden Court Hotel and model trains that run continuously.

The first model was competed in 1963 and is a major fund-raising tool for the Quadriplegic Association of KwaZulu-Natal. Not only does it provide funds for the organization but also employment for the physically challenged.

The buildings come up to about knee height giving people a perspective of the city that is unmatched by walking through the city normally. It’s as if you are walking through a little toy land giving kids joy and excitement when they see the trains and planes moving around.
