South Africa
plekke wat jy nooit sal vergeet nie

Doringbaai Beach, found just south of Strandfontein in the small West Coast town of the same name, is frequented mostly by locals making it the perfect beach to enjoy, crowd free.

The beach is your typical West Coast long stretch of white sand with intermittent rocky outcrops with rock pools filled with an abundance of bait organisms and interesting little fish which will keep the youngsters occupied all day. The beach is family friendly however no lifeguards are on duty. The West Coast waters are chilly and not many are brave enough to enter without a wetsuit, but the beach is still a wonderful day out with the family for picnicking, sunbathing and long walks.

Visitors have described the beach as romantic, quiet and peaceful, a beach perfect for bird-watching or whale and dolphin sightings during season. The Lighthouse is obviously an added attraction as is the small crayfish factory nearby.

Doringbaai Beach has a few comfortable self-catering units and guesthouses available within walking distance from its sandy shores. If you looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is one of the quietest places you could find.
