The annual LDYC Round the Island Race Weekend Regatta takes place at the Lake Deneys Yacht Club (LDYC), approximately 120 km from Johannesburg, on the first weekend in February every year. This year will be celebrating the 59th occurrence of this prestigious event.

The Round the Island Race is the largest inland yacht race in the world, with the highest number of entrants was 721 which won fame for the race in the Guinness Book of Records with the “Largest number of yachts in an inland race” record. On average the race will see a fleet of 400 registered entrants, 1 800 sailors and 3 300 visitors descend on the Club grounds to join in the challenge of the race as well as the organised fun and activities on offer over the weekend.

Entries are open to all keelboats, micro multihulls, catamarans and dinghies and the popular race attracts sailors from all over the world. Register on time and join in the most popular inland sailing challenge in the world! Bring the family there will be plenty of activities, fun, food and refreshments. A beautiful sight to see!
