Brighton Strand

Brighton Beach on Durban’s Bluff is renowned for its world famous surf spot “Cave Rock”, an exposed beach break that has such reliable surf that it can work at any time of the year, its un-spoilt beaches and its coastal tidal pool.

Situated south of Durban, between the CBD and King Shaka International Airport, the beach has many rock pools to explore and is an excellent diving and fishing spot.

In the winter months whales are often spotted along the coast whilst dolphins can be seen frolicking close to shore all year-round.

There are nature trails and the Bluff Nature Reserve has two bird hides that provide excellent viewing opportunities, whilst the thick coastal vegetation is home to families of monkeys and mongoose.
