Barrydale in Bloom in Barrydale, Wes-Kaap

With 2017 seeing a great success, Barrydale welcomes you again to Barrydale in Bloom 2018! Last year there were approximately 16 gardens on show with, on average, 50 people visiting each one. This year they are hoping for even more visitors and have over 20 open gardens.

Being only three hours from Cape Town, this charming village is just the best to have a relaxing weekend getaway. The festival is centred around gardens and includes everything from small front gardens to lovely rose gardens and indigenous, water wise gardens. For one weekend a year, Barrydale and its neighbours blossom with activity!

This festival is a unique take on flower shows you see in the city and is always welcoming of new people to come see the locals gardens they worked so hard to grow and nurture. The festival also brings to you a craft fair that will have something for everyone. You can peruse the stalls of, locally and handmade goodies, perfect for taking home!

There will be a tea room for anyone to visit whenever they are feeling peckish, which will open the whole weekend and has plenty of delicious homemade delights to go around! Not only that, but all the proceeds from sales goes toward the local Hospice in Barrydale, so come get your grub on while helping the local charity too.

Entrance to the gardens is free of charge and safe parking will be provided. Make a weekend of your trip and stay in some of the lovely local guest houses and enjoy the beauty of Barrydale!
