Arniston Beach

Situated in the town of the same name, Arniston Beach is considered one of the best secret beaches in the Overberg region of the Western Cape.

Arniston the village can only hold a handful of people, which means the beach is never crowded. Here coastal lovers can relax and take a step back in time and spend the morning watching fisherman take their boats out to sea for the catch of the day! Many of the local fishermen live in the quaint thatched roof houses on the beach, you’ll spot them easily with their lime-washed walls.

The rolling sand dunes are contrasted by the rugged dark cliffs of the coastline, making it a popular choice for photographers. The soft white sand is great for building sandcastles or just relaxing on and reconnecting with nature while sunbathing. Contrary to belief that all the Cape’s waters are notoriously cold, Arniston’s secluded bay has lovely mild water and with its characteristic rock pools the Cape beach offers hours of swimming and snorkelling.
